Sungai Pin Conservation Area is managed and promoted as a place for nature-based tourism, education and conservation. In 2017, Sawit Kinabalu Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sabah Forestry Department through the Sabah EU-REDD+ Project to develop a conservation management plan for the area.
